How to export a Solo website
Last checked: 2026-10-16
Solo, Mozilla's AI website builder, is closing. Its Shutdown FAQ says: "All Solo websites and data will be deleted on November 30, 2026. There will be no way to recover your site, account, or data after that date." (Solo Shutdown FAQ)
This page answers solo website export: how to download your site from Solo, what the ZIP actually contains, and how to turn it into files you can host. The longer walkthrough is the export guide.
Download Website Data from Solo
Solo's FAQ lists these steps:
- Log in to Solo.
- Click the menu at the top right, and select Account Settings.
- In the Account Settings popup, click Download Website Data.
You get one ZIP. Solo says it contains "an HTML export of your website and a CSV file with links to your image assets, as well as your contact form and newsletter submissions." (Solo Shutdown FAQ)
Do this before November 30, 2026. Solo does not give a time of day or time zone for the deletion.
The ZIP is not a finished website
Solo also says:
"Image source files are not included in the ZIP. Download each image individually from the links in the CSV file before the shutdown date on November 30, 2026." (Solo Shutdown FAQ)
The same ZIP holds your customers' names and emails. Do not upload it to a host as it is.
Restore the images with the free tool
- Open Site Export Rescue.
- Drop the Solo ZIP on Drop a ZIP here, or choose a file.
- Download both results:
- Website (ready to host):
website-ready-to-host.zip—index.htmlandimages/at the top. This is the only file you host. - Your form data (private, don't upload this):
private-form-data-do-not-upload.zip— contact form and newsletter submissions. Keep it on your computer.
- Website (ready to host):
Your export stays in your browser. Public images and styles are downloaded through our server.
Run the tool before Solo shuts down on 11/30. It also saves styles and fonts where it can, but only while Solo is still online, so they can't be guaranteed. Anything Solo has already deleted is skipped and listed in the report.
For hosting on Netlify or Cloudflare Pages, see Move a Solo site to Netlify or Cloudflare Pages. If pictures are still broken, see Solo site images missing after export.
